Next Level Campaign passes $250K

The “Taking Northfield History to the Next Level” campaign has surpassed $250,000 in pledges, including $60,000 recently pledged by the City of Northfield. The campaign, currently in its eighth month, is raising money to upgrade the historic Scriver Building by adding an elevator and public restrooms.

We’re excited that so many Northfielders feel committed to this project. Nearly 200 individuals and businesses have contributed to the campaign.

I am confident that the campaign will reach its goal by raising the remaining $120,000 over the next few months. A large banner on the Division Street side of the Scriver indicates campaign progress. Just around the corner from the banner is evidence that construction is in full swing, including the first stage of installing the elevator.

When construction is done, this fabulous building is going to be something that everyone in Northfield can be proud of.

NHS Executive Director Hayes Scriven (center) led the tour alongside Ray Cox, owner of Northfield Construction Company and general contractor for the project. Here, the trio stands in what used to be the alleyway behind the Scriver building that will house an elevator and public restrooms when the project, funded in part by Minnesota Legacy Grant money, is complete.
